Galentine’s Day or Valentine’s Day?

Do You Prefer Your Mid-February Celebration of Love with a “V” or a “G”?

No matter if you go for the traditional or the trending holiday, February 13 and 14 is a perfect time to honor the people you love. From those ride-or-die friendships to your “before anyone else”, each day has its own merits.

Galentine’s Day (February 13)

Pop culture has a funny way of interjecting into our real-life celebrations. Festivus has become quite a common “holiday” in December, all thanks to a little sitcom called “Seinfeld”. The more recent version of this phenomenon would most certainly be “Galentine’s Day”. In a 2010 episode of the popular comedy “Parks and Recreation”, Amy Poehler’s character, Leslie Knope throws an annual party for her girlfriends. It took a few years, but now in 2021, Galentine’s Day is a trending holiday celebrating women just being women! And even if you can’t be with your besties this year, that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate…

“In the wind we bend… & when we think we can bend no more, we find new places to bend from” – Inside Verse: “…or friends to lean on. Always Here for You”

Valentine’s Day (February 14)

How did a once liturgical celebration of a Christian saint turn into the most romantic day of the year? Through the years, Valentine’s Day has been celebrated in different forms. Yet since the dawn of the Renaissance, people have been exchanging Valentine’s cards. This practice still continues to this day, whether the obligatory card hand-outs in school classrooms to the more romantic gestures between lovers. What once were handmade tokens of affection have become more commercial overtime. But what better way to celebrate than with a blend of the two – our beautiful greeting card designs and your heartfelt words!
